So Addy and I have been pretty worried about church, we didn't know where it was and honestly we have no idea where anything is here except the grocery store and H&M. But on Thursday we were going into our apartment building and we saw the missionaries leaving! We were so happy, they gave us directions to the church and told us which bus to catch. Well Sunday came along and we had no idea where the bus stop even was. But somehow we found it! It was cool, our neighbor is from the Netherlands and he's Catholic and he decided to come to our church to see what it was like. The missionaries were waiting for us once we got off the bus and we followed them to Church. The whole meeting was in Swedish so we had a translator the entire time! I felt bad because it probably distracted the speaker and a pain for the translators. But they just seemed happy we were there! It was a really small branch, with only 20 members, and 5 of those members were visitors! The Branch President is only 24 and he has the cutest Norweigian wife! They are so so nice! I love them, they already invited us to so much! For their YSA activity we are going to Denmark for the weekend and going to the Copenhagen temple! So excited. They are letting us stay at a members house. Also, they invited us to a potluck dinner, and lots of other YSA activities! The Branch President and his wife may even go to Norway with us to show us around since Sigrid (his wife) is from Norway! Honestly these people are some of the nicest people I have ever met. They want to show us all their Swedish traditions and I can't wait! Also, I'm so grateful for the missionaries here. They are amazing. One is from Kaysville and the other from Montana. I think this would be a way hard area because everyone on Campus drinks and parties all the time. Saturday night Addy and I went to a party for International Students and people were shocked we didn't drink, but super respectful about it. We were the first Mormons most of them had ever met. Haha one guy asked if I had gone on my trek to find myself yet. I asked him if he meant a mission and he's like yeah don't you travel the world and find yourself?? Haha it was funny. We took pictures of our church but they didn't turn out too well, so next week I'll take more and post those ones. For now I'll post the Copenhagen temple because I CAN'T WAIT TO GO!!
Love it...Can't believe they have an Angel Moroni on their church building...so cool! I love reading these, but it just makes me miss you tons!

ReplyDeleteOh Duh! I did read it all, just misread it! I thought she said those pictures weren't good, and she would take temple pictures next time...I'm retarded!! It just doesn't really look like a temple!
ReplyDeletehaha i know i dont think it does either! but the church is way small, looks like a house
ReplyDeleteI thought it was the church... I guess maybe Grandma was right about church being the funnest thing you do in Sweden. Just kidding but it made me think of that really good dinner. Random. Thanks for sending stories.
