Church In Sweden

So Addy and I have been pretty worried about church, we didn't know where it was and honestly we have no idea where anything is here except the grocery store and H&M. But on Thursday we were going into our apartment building and we saw the missionaries leaving! We were so happy, they gave us directions to the church and told us which bus to catch. Well Sunday came along and we had no idea where the bus stop even was. But somehow we found it! It was cool, our neighbor is from the Netherlands and he's Catholic and he decided to come to our church to see what it was like. The missionaries were waiting for us once we got off the bus and we followed them to Church. The whole meeting was in Swedish so we had a translator the entire time! I felt bad because it probably distracted the speaker and a pain for the translators. But they just seemed happy we were there! It was a really small branch, with only 20 members, and 5 of those members were visitors! The Branch President is only 24 and he has the cutest Norweigian wife! They are so so nice! I love them, they already invited us to so much! For their YSA activity we are going to Denmark for the weekend and going to the Copenhagen temple! So excited. They are letting us stay at a members house. Also, they invited us to a potluck dinner, and lots of other YSA activities! The Branch President and his wife may even go to Norway with us to show us around since Sigrid (his wife) is from Norway! Honestly these people are some of the nicest people I have ever met. They want to show us all their Swedish traditions and I can't wait! Also, I'm so grateful for the missionaries here. They are amazing. One is from Kaysville and the other from Montana. I think this would be a way hard area because everyone on Campus drinks and parties all the time. Saturday night Addy and I went to a party for International Students and people were shocked we didn't drink, but super respectful about it. We were the first Mormons most of them had ever met. Haha one guy asked if I had gone on my trek to find myself yet. I asked him if he meant a mission and he's like yeah don't you travel the world and find yourself?? Haha it was funny. We took pictures of our church but they didn't turn out too well, so next week I'll take more and post those ones. For now I'll post the Copenhagen temple because I CAN'T WAIT TO GO!!

The First Week

So Kristal and Summer talked me into doing a blog. I was super against it at first due to the fact I don't have a husband or a kid, but then I decided it would be a good journal for later. So here goes... I left Monday afternoon and arrived Tuesday night. Getting here was pretty easy, except we lost our freaking luggage and didn't get it for 3 days!! Super bugged about that. Anyway so far I love it! It gets better everyday. The food here is NASTY. Totally not a fan, however, I do love the chocolate. We have a castle right on campus, the Teleborg castle. It looks like Harry Potter. And there is a way pretty lake right behind that is so fun to go running around. I know my family would love running here, its so green and pretty! Yesterday, Addy and I went running and ended up getting separated. I was frantic and couldn't find here anywhere. I for sure thought she was dead or kidnapped, especially with all the horror stories everyone told us before we came! So I ran around the lake again, hoping to find her. Then it starts pouring rain and I thought maybe she would go back home, so I ran home and she wasn't there. I was freaking out and I ran back to the lake, looking all around. I still had no luck and at this point I'm crying thinking she's dead and Lori is going to be so mad at me because we split up. I ran back home again thinking we just missed each other. By this point I am soaking wet, and crying. I find some guy and ask if I could borrow his bike to go find my missing friend, I told him he could hold onto my ipod until I came back. That way he would know I wasn't stealing his bike. I think I was a bit dramatic... Anyway he told me I could and I started biking back towards the lake and I see her coming down through the trees. Haha once we both saw each other we started crying! Both of us thought the other person was dead! Looking back now it's kinda funny, but not at the time!
Today, we had a tour of the city and went to another castle. It was so pretty, it reminded me of the Counte of Monte Cristo. I loved it. Since we were on a tour with other International Students we only had 15 minutes to explore the castle, so I definitely want to go back. There was a lake right by the castle too, so many lakes here. They don't even seem real they are so pretty. They are so smooth with lily pads and bridges. Ah I love it. There's so much stuff I want to do and I'm so happy I was able to come here! Honestly I am surprised Addy and I have made it this far, we know the town pretty well i feel. But it's pretty small. Anyway that's all for now, here are my pics!
